A Newly Informed America
Have you ever taken the time to think about the way America has been shaped since the Internet found it’s way into over half of it’s homes.
We were once such a gullible country.
Big media/money would sell us on just about whatever they wanted. If they wanted us to believe that we as Americans should go to war then all they needed to do was air or print some angry remarks from the enemy over and over. Next thing you knew, we were going to war!
If a governor elected by the people of a state refused to play by the rules of the White House or some powerful members of Congress then “the powers that be” would just send out some disinformation to the media. Shortly after , the American people would begin to believe the disinformation. The innocent Governor would then be tried and sentenced by the public.
As a newly informed America we don’t buy everything we read or hear on the news anymore.
We email each other now and we surf the net.
The Internet has ironically become our wire tap on the government.
Technology has given the people the upperhand! We have turned the tables.
Sure…the average man or woman may need to weed through some disinformation on the Internet but most of us still know when we are being fed a line of sh*t. Don’t forget there is also an entire younger generation of hackers out there working in defense of American freedoms. These people know how to find the loopholes. They can decipher and break the code. This is our front line of defense.
Some of you may be thinking…Okay…here’s another crazy paranoid person on the Internet but I’m sure the majority of you are not so naive.
I am in no way crazy. I’m married with 4 kids and happen to lead a pretty decent life in middle America. I run a part time business, work at a part time job and own multiple websites. My wife also has a part time business and a full time career which she is extremely satisfied with.
If I had to describe me…. I would say I am a self educated skeptic. I served three years in the United States Army and only spent one year in college. The rest of my education came from the Internet and regular life over the past 38 years.
Anyway…I’m getting off the point a bit.
The point is that America is now an informed nation for the better part.
We watch, listen, read and see. Sometimes we still pass judgment too soon but we are quickly learning.
It is now our duty to protect our new source of information. It is our pipeline.
Protect the Internet.
I’m not going to send you to some site where you can sign a petition.
Just do your part an keep an eye on it.
Act if you feel you need to act.
We are now living in a newly informed America. Let’s keep it that way.
Power to the people!

“We were ONCE such a gullible country” you say. When exactly did America STOP being a gullible country? It’s still quite stupid and very ready to believe whatever nonsense suits it at the moment rather than accept painful truths. Most people here can’t seem to figure out that it doesn’t matter who you vote for or IF you vote because all the choices are completely controlled by the billionaires that pull the strings on both hardly dissimilar parties. Where’s the party for the average non-wealthy American? I hear crickets chirping. Where’s the party that will give us single payer health care? End the wars for energy resource dominance? Indict the war criminals Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice for authorizing torture and for starting a war of aggression? Actually stand up to the Israeli government? Give basic civil rights to gay folks? Legalize whatever adults want to smoke in the privacy of their own homes? Turn the C.I.A. into strictly an intelligence analyzing organ instead of maintaining it as a covert operations terrorist group that acts in the interests of big businesses? Start paring down the number of comically redundant intelligence agencies in the U.S., now up to the total of sixteen if not more since I last checked? Abolish the Patriot Act? Abolish the Dept. of Fatherland Security? Give us a minimum wage that actually corresponds to the cost of living instead of being an insult to every working person? Give employees the right to easily unionize with the E.F.C.A.? Neither party, or I should say more accurately neither nearly-identical wing of the Big Business Billionaires’ Party, is willing to do any of this. Voting in this country is such a waste of time and so artificial that it makes professional wrestling look authentic. Smart Americans save their money and move out of this cesspool of ignorance and boorishness to a more intelligent, more sane country.
It sounds like you have totally lost faith Brutal Truth…..Keep your head up and give your fellow American citizens a chance to right the wrongs!
